He
came!
I went in
search of Him!
It was
darkness still,
The
wavering star-light was dim,
The
morning had not yet set in.
I knew
not the Way,
My feet
nonchalantly trode,
Guided by
Pole Star’s solitary ray
I
wandered alone on the road!
He came,
I knew not whence,
And asked
me to show Him the way;
He smiled
in the darkness
While I
led Him on my way!
At cross
roads I showed Him
The path He
was to wend,
Then I
parted from Him,
And in
opposite direction I went.
Daylight
burst will the sung of birds,
And the
East was lined with a rosy rim;
In my
heart were whispered the words
“You have
rubbed shoulders with Him!”
