YOU AND ME
Dr. C. S. SUNANDANA
Ever since the seed of Evolution
Sprouted into the great banyan
With myriad branches
Each one a tree in its own right
How often have I wondered
Where I belonged...
Whether to the whole-somewhat
Like the holographic image–
Or assigned to one of the umpteen smaller trees
Else am lone of those
Little woodpeckers or big black ants
Diligently working its way
Up the mighty trunk?
Or the little bird sitting on the farthest branch
Now there - now where?
Tell me: you intriguing spirit
Or what I vaguely recognize
As the Being – just where would you
Locate me on this
Everchanging map of organic existence?
