Dr. J. BHAGYALAKSHMI
I was told that gods laughed
Gods laughed not out of joy
But I believe out of ridicule
It was contempt, not grace
Which was there in their
eyes
It was not love, but pity
Behind those kindly words
Oh! Those sweet sounding words!
But it was the way, they spoke
Now I was told that Gods laughed
They laughed and laughed at me
With contempt, pity and condescension.
