Sisyphus horrified me
and I imagined that he should like to die.
But Sisyphus’s reconciliation
can become perfect, I discovered.
Like the waterfall that never tires of falling,
his task becomes his second nature.
He cannot die,
the earth otherwise would be empty
of half her children,
and that doesn’t happen, does it?
