REALITY AND ILLUSION
K. M. Kale
What we seek and find
Must obviously be an illusion,
For, “I” that seeks and finds
Is itself an illusion.
Which comes to an end
When reality does dawn
And the curtain of Maya
From the mind is withdrawn.
Reality is always there,
But never comes to view,
For, ego with its will and effort
Does itself always renew.
Reality and the impostor ego
Can never together abide
Reality cannot come into being
Unless ego has already died.
In the death of the ego
Is there life eternal
Endless communion
And joy perennial.
