READER’S MAIL

I went through the July-Sept 2006 issue of Triveni. Dr. B. Dayananda Rao’s real life story of his encounter with Mrs. Twizzle is fascinating. It teaches people how to carry on with the hardest of deprivations. How not demanding Twizzle was of her children and how bravely she put up with her blindness! A great story.

I have a suggestion. Kindly publish at the end of each article the Author’s address, his Tel. No., e-mail & Fax. One of the services of a good journal is to help the readers to make friendships and develop a community. Postal address, Tel, e-mail are means to communicate.

I went through your distinguished editorial. Importance of English in the present Globalised scenario which is pregnant with the global importance of English language and its value for ‘Bread and butter’ in the life of an individual. No doubt, English has become the life blood for the youth of 21st century.

The concluding sentence of your editorial ‘Mother tongue should have priority in our culture’ captivated my feeling. English language for jobs and mother tongue for the survival of Culture.

Received about a week ago the Oct. – Dec. 2006 issue of Triveni. The editorial “Importance of English in the present Globalised Scenario’ is superb. All the articles included in the issue are remarkable for their educative value. I particularly liked the articles on Jiddu Krishnamurthy and Mulk Raj Anand. ‘Indian Diaspora: An Overview’ is of historical significance. Of the poems I very much liked those by K. V. V. Subrahmanyam, R. K. Singh and V. Lalita kumari.

Triveni issue: Oct-Dec, 2006, Triple Stream focused a brilliant article on the importance of English in the current scenario.

The editorial by late K. Ramakotiswara Rau is indeed a privilege for me to read. As he wished, Triveni is really educating men and masters.
