JOURNEY TO THE
PATHLESS LAND
(Dialogue with J. Krishnamurti)
M.G. Narasimha Murthy
Questions varied and perplexing,
Material and metaphysical,
Mysteries of life here and hereafter,
Baffling the best of brains;
Dualities of emphemeral existence–
Joy and hope mixed with grief and pain,
visions of heaven, fears of hell,
Stifling religions, traditions blind,
Habits ingrained, customs stale,
Paradox of science and superstition
Distort and distress the human mind.
Secrets to unfold, depths to explore
To break barriers and discover truth,
Men and women of every claim
Gather around Krishnaji, seer and sage.
Christ like kindly, compassionate,
Ever willing to listen and share,
He delves into depths of consciousness,
Like Socrates, instills love of inquiry,
With the light of reason and intuition,
Breaks through veils of ignorance,
Hypocrisy, sham and delusion,
Like the effulgent moon in a cloudless sky,
The mind emerges clear and bright,
Takes wings like birds set free
And flies on “the viewless wings” of creativity;
Never suppressed nor enslaved by authority,
Nor confined to beaten tracks of orthodoxy,
A light unto itself, unfailing
Moves forward, unswervmg,
“To the path less land of truth”
And the inner world of reality.
