EMINENT AND QUEER FISH
K. V. V. Subrahmanyam
Kalam was indeed an eminent and queer fish
All countries will ever have an eternal wish
For such a dainty and delectable dish,
He laid down his office in a mellow hush.
The primal incarnation in Vedic lore
Was Matsya, opening the door
Of divine Avatars of many more
A blend of values to the fore.
Nonpareil leader of knowledge and science
He kindled thinking on his especial lines,
To explore hidden treasures and mines
generations to come will think of the signs.
Evergreen smile that lit his face
That made all to gasp and gaze,
Never was there a doubt or haze
When all and sundry were in a maze
When will we find another like him,
A person sans fancy or whim
Ever spic and span, neat and trim,
He filled our wish list to the brim
