Adi Sankara

M. RAMAKRISHNA RAO

When conscience was dull and knowledge mute

And the very word of Veda lost its repute,

When acrimony and chaos with atheistic creeds

Plagued our Dharma like worms and weeds,

Thou hast dawned with reason resplendent

And dispelled the doubt and founded thy judgement!

Oh! Lion of Vedanta and Lord Incarnate!

With heart, mind and soul to thee I prostrate.
